2. Reason for revision

In light of recent developments, we have revised our earnings forecast for the six-month period ending September 30, 2026, which was announced on May 13, 2026.

The forecast by business segment, compared with the previous forecast announced on May 13, 2026, is as follows.

For Takara Shuzo, net sales are expected to fall below the previous forecast due to weaker-than-expected demand ahead of the price revision implemented in October 2026. Although cost increases, including those attributable to foreign exchange fluctuations and packaging materials, are expected, operating profit is projected to exceed the previous forecast, primarily as a result of efforts to improve the efficiency of selling, general and administrative expenses.

For the Takara Shuzo International Group, net sales are expected to exceed the previous forecast in both the overseas alcoholic beverages business and Japanese food wholesale business in overseas markets. Operating profit is also expected to exceed the previous forecast owing to improved profitability resulting from price revisions in Japanese food wholesale business in overseas markets, as well as the recording of mutual tariff refunds and foreign exchange effects.

For the Takara Bio Group, net sales are expected to fall below the previous forecast, mainly due to lower-than-expected sales in the reagents business. Although mutual tariff refunds are expected to be recorded, gross profit is projected to fall below the previous forecast due to changes in product mix and other factors. However, selling, general and administrative expenses are expected to decrease as a result of the review of consideration based on the development and sales progress of Spatial products, and consequently the operating loss is expected to be smaller than previously forecast.

As a result, for the Group as a whole, net sales, operating profit, ordinary profit, and profit attributable to owners of the parent for the interim period are all expected to exceed the previous forecast.
